2 out of 3 a successful burn
Used to backup priceless irreplaceable data. Used the LG BE14NU40 to burn the discs. I was really hoping there would be no coasters considering the high cost for just 3 blu-ray discs. I wound up having 1 coaster ( or failed burn if you are not use to the jargon ) considering each disc costs roughly $8 a piece.I would recommend these if you have data you are paranoid of losing like myself and also buy into the idea these discs will last as long as they claim. I was really curious about these discs and just wanted to test them out. I may buy them again, bit given the high price tag associated with them I will probably wait until the price drops. That is a shame since the primary reason I purchased a LG BE14NU40 was for the M-Disc DVD and Blu-ray burning capability. I still have some M-Disc DVD-Rs I have not used yet. But I probably will try to use a different burner, if I have one compatible with the media. There are other options, like using flash media, buying cloud storage, backing up on multiple HDD, etc. The choice is really up to you. If you are like me and like to try some of the newer technologies I would recommend trying these out. I would warn that I have heard of bad batches where all three discs failed to burn successfully. I count myself lucky getting two good burns. I did verify the quality of the burns and did some benchmarking and quality analysis and I was very happy with the results. The two discs that succeeded had low error rates and excellent transfer rates, even bettter than some Verbatim DataLifePlus BD-Rs made in Singapore; The testing was done using an external Lite-On eHBU212 USB 3.0 Drive.Overall I am satisfied with the end results but I will not be buying any more until the price drops or the odds of burn failures drop. I would like to comment that the three discs I received had two cracked slim cases and the discs in these cases had blue ink smudged along the crack in the case. This was most likely due to the front card being pressed roughly against the inkjet surface of the discs. At this point I think these discs are just a gamble and may not last long. But I could not resist the claimed longevity of the discs.

Best M-Disc Recordable Media You Can Buy
These discs have never failed me and they last forever. I use them to encrypt and store financial documents, photos and home movies, and just about any type of historical files I want to keep for a long long time. The fact that they have a capacity of 25GB is icing on the cake. Get them... you won't be sorry.

worth the extra cost
these are cool to save On to knowing that they can literally last 1000 years. There were little more expensive than the regular Blu-rays but well worth it. When you consider what they're capable of

once I got the drive working, they performed flawlessly. So far no one in the family has been able to scratch or ruin them. Great buy.
