Works as expected!Can't say the same for the other device on Amazon that looks just like this (without the Heiman branding).*I tried to use the custom device handler from the Smartthings forums but it didn't work for me. I switched to one of the default Zigbee gas detector device handlers and it worked perfectly.I tested it using a hand-held lighter and pressed down the button to open the gas valve to let out some gas underneath the sensor. Doesn't take much and the sensor alarms audibly and sends a notice to Smartthings; also notifies Smartthings when you push the test button.Note: It does not take batteries and must be plugged in. Not a problem for me, but be aware if your planned location doesn't have an outlet.

Doesn't detect LPG
It works fine when you hold a lighter up to it, but it can't detect my stove LP gas 20 inches away when accidentally left on.

Works with smartthings
You need a special device handler but it works basically like a smoke detector, except for gas.
