Know who's at the door at all times with these camera-embedded doorbell
With this doorbell, you’ll be able to see, hear, and speak to anyone on your doorstep, even if you’re not at home. Simply open up your smartphone, tablet, or PC, and you can interact in real-time (and in 1080 HD video) with the mailman, your spouse, or anyone else who’s ringing your doorbell via an app. You’ll also get instant notifications on your devices when visitors press the doorbell or trigger its motion sensors. You can connect up to ten iOS, Android, Mac, or Windows devices, so everyone in your family can be plugged in if they want to be. This device also runs entirely on battery power, which means you don’t have to worry about hardwiring it to your home. When the battery is out, simply plug it into a MicroUSB cable. A single charge will last up to three months. Thanks to a feature video recording, the doorbell will start capturing footage even if the visitor doesn’t physically press the doorbell. That way, you’ll know when anyone enters the premises of your home.

Works like a charm!
Simple to setup and includes some great features! Perfect size for the average front door, and while it allows for recording of video and photos within the app, it also allows for verbal communication between the person at the door and the home or business owner. The volume is relatively loud for a product of this size, and the picture from the camera is pretty great as well! Would recommend this to others looking to add safety to their home at an affordable price point.

Ok doorbell. Camera stopped recording after a month.
At first this was a great doorbell. I was able to see past activity and monitor who came to my porch. After a month when the battery died, I recharged it which took about 8 hours. It stopped recordings. I get alerts to my phones but I cannot review who was there or what triggered the device. My recording is enabled in settings and i have plenty of storage and iCloud storage. Just stopped working.

Manual record only
Camera quality is great. Works pretty well... Except it only records video / takes pictures if you manually do so. You have to manually answer the motion detection alert (or doorbell ring) in order to take a pic or record video. It won't record automatically. Who can answer their phone every second of the day?! Need to take short video automatically upon ring or motion.

Easy to install and pair. Works as advertised.
Great Product. Installed and paired easily. Works great. Only diffivulty I have is trying to get a different chime on the ding dong. Followed directions but no success. But I really do love the product!!

Video recording lags.
Easy to set up. Recording lags. By the time it notifies me and records, the delivery person is gone. So if the person is there a 2 to 5 seconds stealing your package...you might not catch them on video unfortunately.

Dosen't record activity.
It's a fine live camera but it doesn't record activity. We can walk around in front of the camera for several minutes but when you check the records no activity is recorded. Disappointed to say the least.

comparable to brand name camera doorbells
I was looking into camera doorbells and this came onto lightning deal and had to grab it to try. The item is well built easy to install. Going to have to switch to hardwire as it does gets cold here in Canada. The chime is just plug and play, and it is pretty loud. I can hear it over normal conversation and movie noise levels. Another plus, it seems I can set up multiple devices (more door bell cameras; I have two doors).A few things to really note- connect to a 2.4 GHz ( i was trying to connect to my 5.0 GHz before reading the details)- I did change the SD card to a 32 GB and so far no issue.- App works pretty well and the push notifications is good. Will update this with more of performance in Canadian winter.

Excellent product support
I bought this item about a month ago and have had some time to evaluate it. The manual is good, but misses a couple bits of important info like the SD card location, as it's well hidden, but overall, it was fairly easy to follow. I like the pictures/videos that it takes as it's rectangular and clear and not the round looking thru a bottle type like a lot of doorbells. It also has free cloud storage. The product is well built, and it can connect to your existing doorbell wiring to keep the batteries charged. It does not however ring the existing doorbell, (hence the 4 stars) but rather comes with it's own chime that simply plugs into a receptacle. The chime can be adjusted to quite a number of sounds and the volume can be adjusted as well. I had a number of questions/clarifications I asked the seller and they responded very promptly with the information which shows their commitment to their product.

Impressed **updated Nov 2018
I recieved my doorbell very quickly and was impressed with the packaging, nothing was damaged or even squished. Unfortunately I didn't have any instruction in my package but was able to easily find the installation on YouTube.Installation was simple but due to our house having stucco I needed find an alternative to keeping the video doorbell level & secure. I purchased a metal light switch plate and secured it to our outside wall and then secured the doorbell on the switch plate... Worked perfect!! And looks good. Was simple to pair with our WiFi, with both my android and husbands iPhone. It does notify with little motion, so it can become a pain if you don't change the sensitivity and you have an active street. I found the night vision not as good/far as I had hoped...but it works if someone walks up to the door & is close.Con: it doesn't connect to existing doorbell, so there's not ring inside the house, just your phone. I did have a continuous hum from our inside door chime, so needed to purchase a newer model chime or a transponder to attach... I went with a newer door chime since it was a simpler fix and only $20 more (my choice for the type of chime, so could be cheaper for someone else). It auto charges thru the wired doorbell outside, so it's a permanent fixture and looks good. One weird thing... When we originally got it going to our WiFi, we left it on the counter to see how it would responder in our kitchen. We were surprised when we seen a pair of Asian women assembling something on our playback (8gb memory card installed), which were NOT in our kitchen! Very disturbing and funny at the same time when husband asked "who's that on our doorbell video"?Would I buy again? Yes!Update after using for a few months & now getting bit colder in Saskatchewan - weather has now been below 0c,but not colder than - 10c.unsure if it's the weather but doorbell is no longer working with the phones(1 is iPhone, other is Samsung) and the bell isn't linking to indoor chime. Very disappointed. As I threw out the box, I will contact seller to see if I can return for a replacement or a refund.

Disappointing and will be returning this video doorbell!
Let me preface this by saying that I could see this product being suitable for many consumers, but for me, specifically, I found it fell short and keeping it would have driven me crazy...I had high hopes and wanted this to be a good way to add home security and visibility into things like parcel delivery. However, this device has intolerable quirks and the app does not provide the level of control that I was expecting, so I'm afraid I will have to return this device and look for something else. Note that this doorbell is sold by many sellers and I suspect is the same "under the hood", but may be bundled/supported differently. GJT's bundling is decent/complete since it comes with a Kingston 8GB micro SD card for local recordings, a plug-in door chime, and adequate (although not well-written) instructions. The app is not specifically designed for this doorbell, but likely the other way around.I was able to setup/configure the doorbell per instructions and the YouTube video which the instructions refer to, and while intended to be easy (normally would be), I faced some challenges which I'll describe later. Physical installation was easy and straight-forward, and I mounted it over the original location of my "dumb" doorbell button. Once installed, one of my first observations was that it resulted in my traditional electro-mechanical doorbell humming constantly, which I resolved by bypassing the solenoid, and simply connected the transformer to directly power the video doorbell (and bypassing the electro-mechanical doorbell since it does not integrate with the video doorbell anyway). Basically, the normally-open circuit became constantly-closed with the doorbell connected.Next, the included plug-in chime was good to have -- it's adequately loud, and I selected a basic "ding dong" tone. It had a shortcoming of not working when plugged into the preferred outlet about 5 ft from the doorbell, but it did work when plugged into a different outlet on a different wall, about 4 ft from the doorbell. The chime also retains pairing across power cycles. I would have liked it if I could plug it in say 15-20ft from the front door, which would've been more central in my home.On the doorbell cam unit itself -- I wish the button would constantly illuminate (especially in the dark) if hardwired to constant power as did my old mechanical "dumb" button did, but it does seem to come to life and illuminate red, then blue, upon detecting motion for several seconds. Being a south-facing home, there are times of the day when direct sunlight would hit the doorbell cam, resulting in the motion sensor constantly triggering (I had about 40 alerts within a one hour span) -- this occurred even with the PIR mode set to "Low". In my attached images, take a look at the one where the timeline is peppered with orange spikes, which denote perceived motion -- this was the constant triggering due to the sun. The only way to mitigate the problem was to disable the PIR, which defeats the point of motion detection and active recording. On another occasion, the cam seemed completely dead/non-responsive, as I was no longer able to view the live stream despite multiple attempts, until physically resetting the device. The app for this doorbell, called "XSH Cam" leaves a lot to be desired. I suspect it's the same app that many of the Chinese-made video doorbells use, so I'd advise researching if you're looking for comparable products. My biggest beef is that notifications are either "on" or "off", for both "motion" and "doorbell pressed" functions. Because the false motion was triggering notifications and driving me crazy, I wanted to turn them off, but this would also result in any notifications of an actual pushing of the doorbell button being muted. Even a "snooze" button would be welcome (I believe Ring offers this -- for example if you're shoveling snow or mowing the lawn and want to "disarm" the monitoring for a period). Also, the app is very obtrusive when it is notifying of an event -- unlike notifications from other apps which pulse/vibrate/sound briefly, this app does so multiple times in succession. Also, the app seemed to degrade my iPhone's battery life noticeably (perhaps due to all the false notifications when the sun kept triggering the motion). Finally, a huge fail in the app is that if it cannot communicate with the doorbell cam (e.g. unit fails, gets vandalized, stolen, etc.), the "Cloud" stored video also becomes inaccessible. Think about it... doesn't that sort of defeat the whole reason for storing video in the cloud?!Video quality from the device, and played back in the app, are decent, and about what would be expected at 720P. Day and night image quality are good, and the app has a mode (by double-tapping the image) to "de-fisheye" the image, and you can swipe side to side to pan left/right, which is quite nice. I've included images of day and night view for your reference (forgot to take a snapshot of the de-fisheyed view, sorry!). Playback of recorded video is achieved by sliding back to blocks where motion was detected and recording was made locally to the micro SD card, but this is a bit laggy and unpredictable sometimes, and there are some useful but undocumented functionalities which I won't go into here. Accessing the Cloud video makes it a bit easier to find video of interest because the first frame is shown, and everything is date/time stamped. However, all videos are 8 seconds in duration, and if video exceeds this, it is segmented. Also, the Cloud video is degraded in quality, so the local copies are desirable if accessible (can be pulled on a computer with a micro SD card reader). If you're considering this doorbell cam, I wouldn't completely advise you against it since there are environmental factors that will influence its performance and suitability. For me, it was just not a product whose shortcomings and quirks I could live with.I mentioned a hurdle with set-up... normally, you put the device into a setup mode, then enter your network's SSID and passphrase into the XSH Cam app, and have it "beam" the WiFi credentials to the doorbell cam as an audio-encoded stream. Nifty and easy, but in my case, for whatever reason, the doorbell cam kept crippling my D-Link DIR-825 router and multiple nodes would lose communications until I rebooted the router. It's a bit of an older router but it has the latest firmware, so how/why any device could mess with it is a bit puzzling. I had to configure the doorbell cam using a different router with the same SSID/passphrase, and then I migrated it over to my home network. Most people won't encounter this, but I thought it worth mentioning.I'm using Amazon's return process for the very first time ever, which fortunately is very easy.

Easiest to set up & install
This was the most simplest to set up & install!. Very easy with no problems everything on my unit works perfect other then one thing. I'm not sure if mine is defective or others are the same. But the mic doesn't work well. It's not clear at all & lots of static. Almost pointless to use the mic. For this, is why I only gave 4 stars. If the mic worked. This would have been a 5 star product for me!. My other concern was how well it would work in the cold. Well we were hit with a bunch of snow recently. This is still holding up really well in the cold weather. The camera & sensor work really well in the day & when it's dark in the evening.
