This steel cable is only 3mm thick... so it could be defeated with a pair of good wire snips. It's OK, for light use (like parking at work or outside of a restaurant when I can see my bike through a window), but if you need real security don't' trust this wire or the associated helmet lock... you'll just be buying a new helmet/jacket.I noticed someone left a review for the lock... this is the CABLE ONLY (!!!)... don't expect to get everything in the picture. If you search a little longer, you can also get a nicer carbiner-lock to go with this for $9 right here on amazon... it's larger and has a better shape.

Although Amazon pictures this cable with the combination lock, understand that when you order this product you are getting the cable only. The combination lock is sold separately. This cable is ideal for locking one's motorcycle helmet to the bike when used with the Helmletlok itself, as I do. It is coated so it will not scratch your motorcycle. RJB.

The cable is average. No surprise there, probably not worth $9. Buyer note: as in the the description but not the photo: LOCK is NOT Included. Who knows why the lock is included in the picture.

Practical and lite weight

arrived on time. a little smaller, shorter and thinner than anticipated, but will keep it and see how it works. well coated with plastic.

This this is a very good universal helmet lock that can be used on almost any bike. For full face helmets, buy the optional cable to insure that a would be thief does just cut the "D" ring off you backet and take.

I would give this wire a better rating, but the image is very misleading. Sometimes people (like me) are shopping late a night and forget to double check all the notes in the description.

This is one of the greatest inventions for motorcycles - allows you to leave your jacket and your helmet in the bike not having to worry that someone will takenit away - the wire it's very thin - but still works.
