This is a contemporary piece. So with that being said, this style won't go with average height sofas because it is not tall, just under a foot, but it is absolutely beautiful with my low profile contemporary sofa. It's very heavy at least 50lbs and solid. Comes already put together and is very well made. I wasn't sure this was going to work for me when i read the 1 review with one star. I was wanting to cancel my order but I'm glad I didn't. I LOVE this statement piece!!! Keep in mind that it may not work with certain styles... it does sit VERY low but the over all size is quite large when fanned out with the different levels. Great buy for my look :)
