This Roborock is awesome!I have a townhouse, so I leave it on the second floor where the living room, kitchen, and dining room are located.My friend had the previous generation and told me about how the robot would start mopping when the mop is dry, which caused an issue where the initial area wasn't really clean. They fixed this issue in the S8 MaxV, where it pre-wets the mop before starting to mop. PLUS, it actually air-dries the mop when the robot returns to the station.Compared to the previous generation, the S8 MaxV comes with a larger water tank, reducing the number of times you need to refill it and empty the dirty water. Right now, I am doing it once a week while running the robot once a day all week long.The dust is collected in the section below the water tank and above the robot, in that gray area. You can pull it off, and it includes a clean solution slot for the manufacturer's mop cleaning solution. Each bottle of cleaner fills the container completely, so I can just throw away the empty bottle right after instead of trying to figure out a place to store it. It’s really convenient because I can set up Amazon auto-delivery to have a new bottle sent to me every six months. (I’ve had it since November, and it’s now February, and I haven't needed to refill the cleaning solution yet.)I had renters in the house, so my kitchen floor always had a lot of shoe prints or wipe marks from people trying to clean up drops of food and water stains. I hire a cleaning lady twice a month, and that's just not enough to keep those stains away; it just means that every two weeks my floor looks nice for about one to two days before getting dirty again. This feeling of a smooth, spotless floor is AWESOMEEE!Con:it will eat wires that is kinda just laying in the floor, you need to make sure there is no charger or any wires in the area it can pass through, else you need to set up a virtual fence for it to avoid those areas.Pro:Compared to other tall / thick vacuum robot I got, roborock S8 Maxv is significantly thinner which allow it to go under my sofa with a curve bottom and not get stuck. one of my main reason of getting this is hoping i can find a brand / robot that stop getting stick under my living room reclimer sofa every single morning. "not so automation if i had to move it back to charging station daily with it barely clean half of my floor"

Fantastic upgrade from a Roomba i7. It rarely ever gets stuck, does a great job cleaning and the mapping is really precise in the app whereas the Roomba's was just approximate. The app is well made, easy to use, and has some cool features like live view. I was pleasantly surprised to see it detect my cat and take a photo of it, staring anxiously at the robot. It does this to make sure it does not interact with your pet, a great feature I only learned of after a few days. I was also pleasantly surprised by the lower volume of operating noise compared to the i7, this one is much more quiet.Overall a relatively pricey upgrade, but after 8 months or so I'm very satisfied and glad I upgraded to this more modern robot with powerful cleaning.
