Luxurious Splurge On a Quality Product Sourced, Made and Headquartered in Kauai, Hawaii
I certainly did not need any Malie products, especially at this price point, but I recently visited Kauai and discovered this brand. Many of the local shops carried this brand in their stores, and local restaurants stocked it in the bathrooms. After trying out the Mango Nectar hand soap and lotion, I was hooked.I was told at a store that Malie (means serene in Hawaiian). The brand was created by a husband and wife team living in Kauai, and the brand is made and headquartered there. I like that they use native tropical ingredients found in Kauai for their products. Their line includes scents of plumeria, pikake, maile/koke'e, mango nectar, hibiscus, and coconut. The scents were not overpowering, but I did like the mango the best - subtle and definitely not artificial smelling. It may be too faint for some - the other scents like plumeria are stronger, in my opinion and longer lasting. I also liked the fact I was supporting a local company - we learned during our trip that 80% of Kauai's revenue is tourism sinne sugar cane and pineapple industries left the island to to increased costs in shipping and manufacturing. This product is interesting, it is heat and cold sensitive. The first ingredient is coconut oil, so not too surprising it gets solid when cold. I ordered it when I arrived back home to winter weather (the price on Amazon is the same as bringing it home directly from Kauai, so why not?). When I opened the screw on lid, it had the consistency of being very stiff, kind of like butter in a tub or Crisco. When I scooped it out and rubbed it between my hands, it melted and was easy to apply. The package says you can warm the can under warm water, too.It felt like applying a heavenly scented shea butter - not overpowering in smell (what I imagine to be a soft, candied mango scent), and not greasy - it absorbed quickly after a put it on after a shower. This is certainly not an everyday product line for me, but allows me a little indulgence and brings back how much we enjoyed a trip to this beautiful island.

Smells amazing!!!
I don't know about the hydration part, but it's certainly not greasy at all even though it is a chunk of oily grease. The fragrance is very long lasting and relaxing. It transfers onto my clothes and stays on my body leaving a nice refreshing after-scent that's less strong but still pleasant many hours/days later. I like to apply it right after the shower to prevent ashy legs. Overall very happy with the product. Curious as to how the other scents smell like, scared to commit to another scent but so far so good.

This is oily, should be it’s a gloss. Still very oily.
Love the smell of Pikake, and the Body Gloss is a new purchase for me. It’s cheaper than the lotion, so I went with it! I travel a lot so the only issue I have is when I’m in FL it get very wet, and when in the North during winter, it stays hard (almost too hard) but still great and usable. It’s on the greasy side so if you plan on buying this like I did, buy the lotion.

oily mess
Not as pictured. This came as an oily mess. The picture shows it as a lotion or whipped lotion.Leaves oil residue all over the place. The scent is strange. It did not smell like plumeria on my skin. It was too flowery of some other scent.Would not recommend unless you like strong smelling oil on your skin.

Nice sheen and pleasant fragrance
I use this occasionally because it is a bit pricey. It gives a soft shine without being glittery.
