Videos are available showing the guide being used by going to “You Tube” and searching for “Mystery Lathe”. CAUTION! When slicing bread with a knife be careful not to place your fingers in line with the cutting action of the knife. Do not allow children to use this product. Handle with care, knives are very sharp. I personally hand craft each bread slicing guide in Lincolnton, Georgia from solid 3/4" oak lumber for the side rails and 1/2" oak veneer for the bread table. This guide will slice loaves as wide as 6 1/2". It is designed to cut three different thickness of bread, 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4" quickly and easily. ******IMPORTANT****** This guide requires a hand bread knife that has a blade length of at least 12". If using an electric knife the blade has to be over 8 1/2" long. ******IMPORTANT****** The guides cutting slots for the knife are 3/16" wide. If you are going to be using an electric knife, make sure the blade assembly thickness is less than 3/16". Make sure you check the thickness at the tip of the blade where the two blades are connected together. If it measures 3/16" or greater you will not be able to get the blade into the slot to slice your bread. We use a Cuisinart electric knife on our 5 1/2" wide loaf guide and it fits the slot without any problem. I can't use the electric knife on this 6 1/2" wide loaf guide. The blade is not long enough to stay in the slots of the guide. The slicing guide ships with a anti slip mat that is placed under the slicing guide to stop it from sliding on your countertop while slicing. If your pad wares out you can purchase one locally. Use caution while slicing with a knife to avoid injury. Knife not included.
