I picked up the HyperX Cloud Alpha headset after a lot of research and recommendations, and I have to say it’s lived up to the hype completely. Straight away out of the box, you can tell this is a premium bit of kit without the ridiculous price tag that some other “pro” gaming headsets seem to carry these days.First impressions are brilliant. The construction is proper solid — aluminium frame, thick braided cable, and nice soft leatherette earcups. They feel really durable but still light enough to wear for long sessions without feeling like you’ve strapped a brick to your head.Comfort-wise, they’re honestly spot on. The earcups are big enough to cover your ears completely without squashing them, and the padding is thick and super comfy. I’ve done a few marathon gaming sessions (6+ hours) wearing these and had no aches, no pressure hotspots, and no overheating around the ears. You could easily wear these for a full workday if you needed to.Sound quality is where the Cloud Alpha really shines. The dual-chamber drivers they brag about are no joke — the sound is super clean, with a good separation between bass, mids, and highs. Explosions in games like Call of Duty feel deep and powerful without turning into a muddy mess, and dialogue in RPGs like The Witcher comes through crystal clear.What’s brilliant is that they’re not just “bass monsters” like some gaming headsets — there’s plenty of thump when needed, but you still get all the finer details, which is brilliant for competitive gaming where hearing footsteps and little audio cues can mean the difference between winning and losing.The microphone is detachable, which is handy if you want to use them out and about. Mic quality is solid too — my mates on Discord said my voice sounded clear, loud, and natural, not muffled or robotic. It’s not “broadcast quality” but more than good enough for gaming, streaming, or Zoom calls.One really nice touch is the inline audio controls — simple volume dial and mute switch. No fumbling about with menus or keyboard shortcuts when you need to adjust something quickly.Compatibility is brilliant too — works with PC, PS4/PS5, Xbox, Switch, and even just as general headphones if you’re commuting or travelling. Just plug the 3.5mm jack in and you’re off. No messing about with drivers, software, or extra faff.Only small niggle — and it’s really tiny — is that the braided cable is detachable but feels a little stiff at first. It’s loosened up a bit after use, but worth mentioning if you’re expecting it to flop about like a regular rubber cable straight away.Also, while they’re not “active noise cancelling,” the passive noise isolation is excellent. Pop them on and a lot of background noise just naturally disappears thanks to the snug fit and thick padding.All in all, the HyperX Cloud Alpha is an absolutely brilliant headset for the price. Tough, comfy, sounds fantastic, and works with pretty much anything you’d want to plug it into. If you want a no-fuss, top-performing headset for gaming, music, and everything in between, I can’t recommend it enough.

I give these headphones 5/5, it is comfortable, the sound quality is superb and it does not fall off my head. I use these headphones for my pc and play games such as valorant, call of duty and marvel rivals etc. I can hear steps of my enemies crystal clear.HOWEVER, since i am on pc i have the advantage of using an equaliser on my headphones which makes a HUGE difference. I EQ'd my hyperX alpha to add more bass and it sounds super amazing. It sounds extremely similar to apple's airpods headphones. When equalising it makes it suitable for music and gaming.I would still highly recommend these headphones to console players as they are your average gaming headset and you will literally receive everything you expect from an ideal gaming headset.The only con i have for the hyperx alpha is that If you are getting the hyperx alpha for your console, expect the sound to be mediocre. These headphone lack bass (which is why i eq'd them), but it does come with great clarity as less bass makes sound more clear.Other than that, they are amazing. I wish these were the headphones i first brought, i returned 5 headphones and hyperx alpha was the 6th headphone i got, and now i am satisfied. 😅 I went through so much research and even thought about getting iems over the hyperx alpha. At least my mind is at ease now!(Also i didnt talk about the microphone in this review as i got them for only listening, you can see how the mic sounds easily from a quick youtube search)
