Mag filter
This is a fantastic product does the job really well i had a new boiler fitted and after about 8 months there was a rumbling from the boiler at night when it came on.after installing this magnaclean and within about 4 weeks the noise has gone.At first i had to remove and clean the magnaclean filter every weeks which in itself it not difficult to do as isolation valves are supplied together with a spanner in the kit.Now i clean it approx 6 months it certainly removes the deposits the black sludge was thick at first but not its only a thin layer attached to the magnet plastic sleeve.Cheaper than calling out a plumber for a noisy boiler and works all year round. A spare "O" ring is supplied in the kit also which is nice of them.

Plumber stole my last one!!
Had my boiler moved recently and during the pipe disconnect and move, the plumber stole all the copper and my magna clean! These things are easy to install and definitely worth having on your system. You know it’s good when a registered plumber steals your 10 year old version!

These are essential
I cannot recommend these highly enough.I've put these in my own houses a few times now, each time it's been added to an old system and I've been horrified at the quantity of lumps and sludge they pull out of the heating circuit the first few weeks/ months after they're added, I find it staggering the boilers and pumps were still running. If you have an old system that's not been running with inhibitor, you'll probably notice a significant difference in the speed at which radiators heat up once it's had a chance to clear out the oxides, in a new system it will help prevent accumulation of deposits, just remember to use inhibitor and clean the accumulated material off the magnet from time to time.

Great Product, but could be even better
After doing some research it appeared that the Magna Clean product was probably the best filter to use. This type of filter is more or less essential (as well as power flushing) if you have a modern combination boiler, which are arguably the most unreliable modern appliance in your household. They block out and stop particles and debris which occur from the pipes and radiators. These cause many issues and break downs in new boilers. It does the job of picking up and stopping the debris very well. The product could be improved in two ways - note to manufacturer1. It would be good to have part of the outside of the filter transparent so that you could see how much debris is in the filter and whether it needs to be cleaned out.2. The valves to open / shut the system are a little fiddly, so if you are not a handy man etc, you might want to change these to make it easier to turn on and off when you empty the filter.

get some in
order on line in advance and save money on merchant prices. Possibly the best system cleaner on the market - really effective at getting all the crud out of your heating system. An absolute must if you are putting a new boiler in and keeping the exisiting rads - ensure your unit is fitted on right pipe - ususally on the return to prevent contamination returning to the boiler but have seen instalations (some by BG) where it was put on the flow!!! by which time the damage has been done to the boiler!!!!

Magnaclean Upgrade
Bought this after discovering sludge build up in my heating system. Easily fitted and excellent cleaning results. Easily maintained. Gives a great facility to dose system with inhibitor too. Would have fitted this when I installed my CH system had it been available - highly recommend it.

Excellent Product
This has got to be one of the best investments that any homeowner can make. With a replacement Boiler now costing £3k plus I cant see why anyone would fit one without this add on to the system. There are other models from different manufacturers out there but this one certainly does the job.If you are fitting it to an existing system you should pay the little bit extra and have a full Powerflush to get rid of what's already there. After all, you wouldn't put dirty oil in a clean engine on your car would you?

a very expensive magnet, which whilst it will remove magnetised material will not solve silt & debris issues, had to purchase another magnaclean as connections are plastic & poor quality so will corrode in time leaving you with 2 options-purchase another or pay for a plumber to plug the gap in the central heating pipework.
