An interesting cuppa
I love floral teas, so I was very interested to try this one. It has an odd smell straight out of the package, but as it brews it dissipates. It is a long brew time (5-10 minutes), and results in a bitter tea that pairs very well with honey. I honestly can’t tell if any relaxation is due to the Egyptian lotus flower, or just because it’s a soothing hot beverage, as I often enjoy herbal tea to unwind after a long day.I find it amusing that this product is illegal in the state of Louisiana. While it’s soothing, I wouldn’t say it’s mind altering.

Pretty flowers, interesting tea
I drink a lot of tea, but this is the first time I am trying lotus flower tea. The whole dried lotus flowers look awesome, but they don’t smell as flowery as they look. I put two flowers (maybe 3, one was pretty thick) in a tea pot and got several cups of tea out of it. Once brewed, the flowers don’t look super pretty, so maybe if you put one directly in the cup you drink it will look more presentable. The tea has an ordinary yellowish color and doesn’t smell all that much. It has a strong flavor, that takes some getting used to. It eventually grew on me and I am enjoying it as a beverage now. I don’t know about benefits or other effects of this tea, but my wife said it had a relaxing effect on her and she slept well afterwards.

Bitter but great tea
I got it when I saw lotus flowers with no caffeine herbal tea. It came in a sealed bag and have dry lotuses. I put only 1 leaf in boiling water and steep for 5 minutes. The color came out of it was light yellow but it was bitter in taste. I added some honey to reduce the bitterness. My tea looks like this after adding honey and was drinkable. Great tea for Noon while working.

Taste is okay, but didn't really feel it did anything for me
I followed the directions on the bag to make a cup of tea. The flowers have a vegetal fragrance. The tea itself is a light floral taste. I drank this tea around bedtime but it did not help at all with sleep or relaxation. If you decide to try this, I recommend checking for potential drug interactions first if you're taking medications. Also do some research first. Although they provide instructions for infusing it in wine, some quick search recommend avoiding combining the two.

So good!
To make this tsane (tea-less tea, lol) I had to use a lower temperature than what most people use with herbal teas. This kept it from being bitter, and allowed the taste to deepen when steeped seven minutes. One flower is more than enough to flavor water. It can ease anxiety, but I don't make any medicinal or psychotropic claims. I like the flavor, the color of the flowers, and the fact so little makes it taste great. That means I get a lot of use out of one packet.

Finally found these
It took me years to try to find it locally or through grocery stores with no luck. Even local herbalists don't see them around. Because of their psychoactive properties, they are not very commonly consumed in the US. I like to make my own tea blend and I find these are perfect to add some unique quality to the tea, with their vibrant color, gentle flavor, and soothing effects. If you ever have butterfly pea flower tea, they are similar in flavors and effects. The only difference is butterfly pea flower has a stronger flavor and the tea body is blue/purple rather than yellow. If you like chamomile, this is a milder version of it. With that said, it is not for everyone. I do have lucid dreams after drinking a cup of tea with just one flower. I usually use a few pedals and mix them in with sen cha or Rooibos to create an afternoon/evening tea.I like this particular product because it is clearly labeled. The flowers are produced in Thailand where they have ample sunlight to bloom. The flowers are large and the color is bright. They seem to be carefully packaged as you can still find individual flowers with petals staying intact.

Today I learned this tea is illegal in Louisiana!
“Oooh, what a pretty tea,” I thought when I saw this. I like tea, and I definitely like trying new things. This was both. So when it arrived, I eagerly started a kettle, dropped a pretty little dried flower into my mug and gingerly covered it in boiling water. It woke up in front of my eyes, rehydrating into a gorgeous purple and yellow blossom. After 3 minutes, I sipped the faintly yellow tea and was decidedly underwhelmed. “Tastes like…ummm…nothing,” I grumbled to my husband, who hates all teas. He responded by telling me I should put more flowers in. I decided to wait another few minutes and I’m glad I did. More on that in a minute though. After 5 or 6 minutes, the water and single flower became tea. It has a subtle flavor that took on depth when I helped it along with a small drizzle of honey. I really like it! I liked it so much that I decided to learn more about the blue lotus flower. What I learned is that Egyptian blue lotus is a psychoactive water plant found around freshwater lakes and ponds in Egypt, eastern Africa, and parts of Asia. People have been using it since the dawn of human existence—it is thought that ancient Egyptians used it as a natural aphrodisiac, an anxiety reliever, and as a sleep aid. Although no one claims it causes hallucinations, it allegedly offers a mild mj-like state that is supposed enhance mood and cause sleepiness. The Egyptian blue lotus contains three alkaloids that bring about psychotropic effects: Apomorphine, aporphine, and nuciferine and in modern times, people take it for purposes ranging from inducing lucid dreaming to helping with symptoms of erectile dysfunction to trying to treat drug addiction. It didn’t seem to have any of those effects on me, but I’m glad I stuck with one small flower to start. I recommend it for its flavor unless you’re in Louisiana or the UK (where it’s illegal) or are in the service (turns out the Dept.of Defense has banned it for service members). But just know it might have unintended consequences, so do some reading first.

Beautiful
This makes the most beautiful cup of tea. It comes with a ton of flowers. You steep for 5 or so minutes and I love to add some honey or sugar to add some sweetness.
