One of the best solo hero art books yet!
I have the Marvel Art of book for each of the MCU films. The first Thor book was a huge disappointment; The Dark World was a marked improvement over that but still had room to be better. Ragnarok not only surpasses both, it actually exceeds most of the solo hero books (though Avengers remains the best of the series).First of all, the book spends a LOT of time on the costumes of the principal cast - Thor, Loki, Hela and Valkyrie all get many pages devoted to the evolution of their costumes. What inspiration was drawn from comics, how the story would have affected them, the character's personality, are all examined. The pages on Hela's headdress alone (and even Loki's) are worth the price of admission. Grandmaster and Hulk get a little less space, for obvious reasons, but still call back to the comics and how they were adapted from them. I never would have guessed how much effort went into Surtur's design, but the book clearly spells out the challenges of making him work on screen. Moreover, since Waitiki intentionally based much of the visuals from the film on the work of Jack Kirby, that is examined in detail. Sakaar was a gold mine of creative opportunity as a world new to the MCU and it shows here. How it was designed, and how the characters would interact within it is all looked at in depth. The concept art throughout is gorgeous, and the text provides great context for the images and evolution of the film.Overall, Ragnarok is another outstanding entry in the series. If you're a collector of the book, this is a great addition. But, it's also a good buy for fans of Thor. Highly recommended.

Love it!
This is my first art book from the Marvel cinematic universe and I love it. (The image you see with the movie title and Hela isn't actually the cover of the book.)In my opinion, Thor: Ragnarok took a sharp but necessary turn away from the "noble" and "polished" atmosphere we're used to seeing from past Thor movies. In the book, director Taika Waititi goes into detail about his vision and explains some concepts behind the whole "cosmic space race, rock-opera, and heavy-metal version of Thor". It's fascinating to watch all this serious Norse mythology morph with a brightly colored cyber-punk theme. The book is arranged in chronological order; from the start to end of the movie. Very very little screenshots of the movie itself. Mostly art, which I really appreciate. The book includes: concept art/costume designs for main characters and some sub characters like the scrappers and Hela's minions, footnotes explaining the overall idea and creation behind the image, weapons, spacecrafts, architecture, interior design, and beautiful two page spreads.Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the creative process behind the movie and would definitely recommend this book to anyone considering in purchasing it.

Beautiful Book!
My thoughts on the films aside (as I thought it was an incoherent, disrespectful mess and nothing more, really) - this book may very well be the best art-book I've ever bought - let alone in the Marvel line. It's everything I ever wanted: from a truly wide variety of atworks and designs, to side-notes from the designers describing what exactly did they want to accomplish, how, and why! The sections dedicated to Hela's design were especially the highlights for me - so intriguingly intricate!I'll definitely recommend this book for every person who is interested in costume and production design, or just a fond of great art-books in general.๐!

A jaw-dropping art book!
Every Marvel movie has its own art book and so there is one for โThor - Ragnarokโ too. It is the third book in the Thor series and is different from the others: it features the same colorful and psychedelic atmosphere as the movie, with a lot of majestic pictures and artworks. The book tells everything about the movie, i.e. cast, plot, locations, costumes, conceptual artwork, paintings, weapons, props, backstage information and so on.The edition quality is very good, with a colorful box. A product that will really make Marvel fans happy, a must have.

Great condition and content for Marvel Studios's Thor Ragnarok Artbook!
I like the book as it arrived on time and came in a large but useful box. It did not have any damages at all as the packaging quality was excellent. So far, the book has also been interesting as it lives up to how the film goes and it is in sequence. I would like to thank Amazon and the seller for this amazing book. Can't wait to buy more items and merchandise from Amazon again!

Formatting problem for kindle version.
The content of the book is superb but unfortunately there were some formatting issues with the kindle edition of the book. Pages were cropped off and look like they were โsquashedโ hopefully it can be fixed.

Marvel-ous behind the scenes book
The media could not be loaded. ย Marvel has done it again, they've produced another fantastic behind the scenes look at the concept art, costumes and props that created the world of Thor Ragnarok as envisioned by Taika Waititi.Securely held inside the beautiful slipcase depicting Thor and Loki's new nemesis, Hela front and centre on the cover, this colourful vibrant book is chock full of the high quality concept art we've all come to expect from the wonderful team at Marvel Studios.A must have book for any Marvel fan.See my video for a quick flip through of this beautiful book.

One Hela of a good art book.
The foreword to this book is written by the film's director and includes some of his own sketches. The rest of the book is filled with concept art of all the major characters and locations. The artwork is of the standard collectors would expect from Marvel's 'The Art Of' series. The concept art for Surtur and Hela is particularly memorable and there are some fantastic double-page paintings. Comparing this book to the others in the series it would be fair to say this is one of the best. For art book collectors and fans of the film this book is essential.

Great book - Recommended
I love Thor and the Ragnorak movie and was keen to buy this book. I do collect the 'Art of' books and I was not dissapointed by this one. As it was from the used section, it did come with a little cut to the edge of the slipcase, which was mentioned in the listing, but it was a good price and I am happy with the purchase. The pages are full of content and lavish, similar to the movie and this does stand out as one of my favourite 'Art of' books, I have. I am selective of my books and want to keep them as good as possible, as part of my extensive collection, so in hind sight, I may have preferred to spend a little extra to get one that was in perfect condition. Great book though.
