Exactly as described
I read several of the negative and positive reviews on these mittens and decided to give them a try. They are exactly as described on Amazon. They are heavy (1.5 pounds as described). I put them on my hands and settle in to watch TV and I find the weight comforting. I wouldn't want to try moving my arms around with the mittens on (unless I was at the gym working biceps - smile). I don't find the weight a negative characteristic but understand if some do. I also read that they have a strong odor that bothered some. My pair have almost no smell. I have had them for about a week so I will let you know if that changes in the future. The mittens are plenty big for my hands and cover my wrists and lower arms for full coverage (see photos). For me, these mittens are very helpful. The warmth soothes the arthritis pain in my wrists and fingers. It lasts for about 15-20 minutes if I put my hands with the mittens under a blanket on my lap or wrap them in towels. Please be aware these are considered a medical device and are not returnable. Thank goodness. I wouldn't want to put my hands in used mittens. My advice is to read the description carefully and decide for yourself. I am happy with my purchase and can recommend them.

Game changer!
I have arthritis in my hands that gets really bad sometimes so I use a paraffin wax dip which is amazing! I typically use these in after the paraffin dip and the plastic cover is put over my hand then I will put these on and enjoy the added heat. It has made a huge difference and when I can't use the paraffin dip I will often just toss these in the microwave and use them independently and they really help with the arthritis pain! I would totally buy these again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

Much more versatile than I would have thought
I got these for a friend with rheumatoid arthritis and also several spinal and pelvic fractures. I had not considered the fractures when I got them but she tells me that not only are they wonderful for relief in her hands, they are large enough and, because of the rice being flexible, the mittens mould to her back and sound and brings tremendous relief. I've ordered a pair for myself to use in my shoulder and neck which are often a problem. Such an unexpected beneficial purchase. The moist heat is wonderful.

excellent for folks with Reynaud's or for heating up cold hands
Purchased these to replace a pair of spa gloves that were falling apart. I heat these for my elderly Mum when she is cold. She has Reynaud's Syndrome and these are perfect. They fit a wide range of hands and the heat lasts for a couple of hours, unlike other gloves. You can't hold anything while using them, as they are really a slip-in pocket. Pay attention to the heating instructions. I posted them on my frig as a reminder. They are well-filled and are solidly made and have weight to them.

Heat doesn't last long
I had really hoped, based on many of the reviews that these would be the thing to help ease the arthritis pain in my hands. At first they are good, but the heat doesn't last more than 10 mins tops, and I heated mine till they were very hot. I would have liked some sort of soft cozy lining inside as well but instead it has the same sturdy material as the outside...which is great for the outside (top and bottom) since you do want it well made so it holds up, but would have preferred to slide my hands into something that feels nicer.

Comfort and Ease of Use
These are wonderful!!! I use these mittens to alleviate arthritis in my hands. These mittens are great because they are easy to flash in the microwave and my hands fit in them with lots of room. They are far superior to others I have had. Sometimes I heat just one mitten and put it wherever I've got aches--back of neck, lower back, etc. So they are very versatile, too. They have a nice, heavy weight to them that adds to their comfort. And don't discount the attractiveness of the bright purple/blue cover!

Works for my painful trigger fingers
Love theseLike: have arthritis & multiple joints that trigger - these give heat with a bit of moisture that really helps especially prior to doing physical therapy exercises. Big enough to even slip over my feet when they are hurting. Covers my wrists to help there also. Easy to pop into the microwave & warm up. Don’t risk ruining or exploding like many heating products.Dislike: has a bit of a grainy smell that triggers some allergies but not enough to keep me from using them as they are so effective. A bit pricey - looks like something that would be easy to sew up on your own - but then, people will pay for something that works & comparable in price to more elaborate medical devices that aren’t as effective.

So far, it lives up to its billing for soothing arthritic hands.
I chose the Kozy Mittens thinking there would be more filling to heat up & cover both sides of my hands. Other products had much less filler to heat up and did not cover both sides of the hand. With one use, It took 2 minutes to heat up and lasted about 10 minutes. I will store it in a plastic storage bag in the freezer to see if I notice moist heat upon reapplication. It's priced higher and weighs more than others, but it delivers more, including more filler which is a good thing. And while it weighs more, that's not really a problem as you're just resting your hands in it, while in use. So far, so good
