I wanted a simple and inexpensive gps device to mount on my sailboat so I could measure speed. This device works just fine. Like many multifunction devices, figuring out the correct buttons to press to get what you want is tricky, but it does offer many options and is configurable in many useful ways once you figure out the buttons. I was worried about the fact that some reviewers reported that it would only display Kmh, but the description indicated that Mph was also available. After a thorough reading of the manual, I found this setting buried in the "Time" menu. It is possible to change the measurement to Mph, but it is just not where you might think to look without carefully reading the manual.

This item desperately needs more information in the product description. The item is about 3.5"H x 2.75"W in size. The screen is about 1.25" square and it weights only a few ounces. It is powered by one AA battery (included). It really sucks the juice too, so carry a spare battery. My first battery went dead after about only 5 hours. Rechargeables may be in order. The screen is black and white and is not very high res but shows the items like speed and distance in large text. It can show a compass and stopwatch. You can cycle through various formats on the screen to select the info you want to show.Included in the package are an arm band, holder base, bike handlebar clip, one AA alkaline battery, a mini CD with the device's USB driver and some documentation and the USB docking station. Not included but available as a download is the SportTrack software that is necessary to read the GPS coordinates that the unit records. It is free to use but will only hold records for 90 days, you can purchase the "full" version for $35 from the author, it keeps all records indefinitely. You should consider this cost if you want to keep your records permanently. It can display your routes on maps derived from Google maps. The unit itself does NOT display maps, the displays resolution is just too low. You can import a route ahead of time from a PC and the unit prompts you with directional arrows - again no maps are displayed.The unit works fine showing speed, distance, time and heading. It is a good size and the mount fits well on the handlebars. It clearly states in the instructions - but buried in the middle of them - that you MUST start the stopwatch function in order for this unit to actually record the GPS route. If all you want is speed and distance just turn the unit on and go ride. If you want the GPS to record the route change the mode to the stopwatch mode (third mode - shows a stopwatch face icon) and click the SET button to start the stopwatch. Failing to do this will NOT record any GPS data.There is no information on the box or instructions about the manufacturer so I suspect it is no longer being made. Several other sites list the unit at a cost of about $130+ so the cost here may reflect closeout pricing. That means no warranty on the unit or replacement should it fail. So caveat emptor.The price is high for a speedo / distance tool but adding the GPS route tracking makes it worth the price.

I bought this device to measure distance when I run. The first time I used it I ran my usual route. It measured the distance perfectly. The only problem was changing Km to miles but eventually I will be thinking Km instead of miles. Navigation is not transparent but the directions that come with the unit are very helpful. When you turn on the unit the GPS antenna icon at the top of the screen will appear. When this icon stops flashing the GPS has determined your starting location. To access the distance mode press power and then mode till you see km/hr at the top and a timer in the middle. Press select until you see distance(DST)at the bottom. To reset the timer press both the select and set buttons simultaneously. Press the set button to start measuring time and distance. This unit can be strapped on your arm, mounted on your bicycle, or held in your hand. I have a small arm but by removing one of the velcro straps the unit fits snugly on my arm. This device runs on one AA battery so be sure to turn the unit off when you are finished. This device has a number of other features that I am not yet familiar with but the GPS works very well especially when you compare the price of this to GPS watches with less features.

Doesn't mount well. I found some 7/8 wide Velcro One Straps (2sided self sticking 90700) online which was an improvement. Accuracy isn't one of its strong features & it does go through batteries.

this works great for me as i dont have a smartphone. does exactly what i wanted. (speed in MPH) some said its difficult to use/set up, but i had no issues. comes with a bike handle bar clip, velcro arm band, usb station, installation cd to upload to your computer, and even comes with a battery! great product! love it!

Nice, very good...

It worked first three times. Then, the LCD no longer displayed the complete numbers. Changed batteries but still not working. Very expensive for three uses.

Got for my husband. Didn't really use it.
