It was a pain to install as that is just the process, but it fit perfectly. Once I got the lower unit apart, it slipped right in! Great value for the price.

Bough impeller for Nissan NS5B 5Hp Outboard. Im a Expert Researcher and Reviewer. The inpeller blades seems to be a little thinner than the previous Tuhatsu oem impeller (both Nissan and Tuhatsu impellers for 5 and 6hps are interchangeable). Key slot looks tighter than oem key slot on the impeller but with a little dishsoap or grease and push it slides in place. When I fired the outboard up it took a few mins to squirt water out, so I put it in reverse then foremward and it started spitting water.Ran the outboard on Lake Powell pulling 4 kayaks and 2 SUPs (total of 6 adults and 1 child plus me) who tide into my 9footer inflatable dinghy sides and we cruised the coves and 5hp Nissan kept kn going.Felt the stream of water coming out of engine and was cool the whole time telling me the impeller is doing its job. This was on a 80F day.As for longevity, time will tell, but you change your impeller every season any ways and I use it 6-10 times a season.For the price, it seems to do the job and fits. I bought a second one as back up to keep onboard in my dinghy tool bag. I could have opted for the Tuhatsu, but it was going to take a while to ship out and I would have to spend $25-30 and then change it after 6-10 uses once the season ends.

The impeller is not as solid as the original it replaced. But the fit and function is so close I cannot tell the difference especially when considering the price difference.
