Review of a 2oz bottle of Emtage Silkage Scalp Repair, Pre-wash oil treatmentProfessional quality. Although it is an oil, it is not real oily. A little goes a long way. I suggest starting off with a pea-size and building. It is a lot easier to add more than to correct using too much.I like the twist top for dispensing the product. Even after the product is on the hands, it is still easy to twist the top closed.The card that comes enclosed with the Silkage Scalp Repair, is very professional. 13 Benefits are listed with bullets, for quick reference. On the reverse side are detailed instructions and ingredient list. I especially like the card, due to the fact that the writing on so many products is so tiny, even with perfect eyesight it can be hard to read. For me, the card created a "above & beyond" credibility. It is obvious a lot of thought went into it. I would prefer to know if placing a heated portion of the oil on the hair and then the shower cap, would work just as well. The reason for the shower cap is, the head produces its own heat. The shower cap helps keep the heat in and acts as an agent to aid in the production of the ingredients. I use this method with every deep conditioning hair masque. Very effective.I must say that I did not care for the smell. For me, it has a medicine smell, not something I want my hair to smell like. That is the reason behind the 4/5 star rating.So, there are the things that I liked, did not like & the things that I could not speak on due to lack of experience with the product. I had never heard of a pre-wash hair oil before, so I was excited to experiment with this one. My hair is dry, damaged, and I suffer from split ends. I could use all the hair nourishment that I can find!I found that for best results, I apply a dime size amount all over my hair, concentrating on the ends. Then I work my way up to my scalp. I evenly coat my hair, then go to bed. I would advise using a old pillow or pillow case when using this over night as oils can stain fabrics. When I showered the next day, my hair just felt wonderful. So bouncy, lively, and beautiful. I was very impressed!I would recommend using this overnight or on a day when you are home. I did try it just a few hours before showering, and it made my hair quite greasy feeling, not something I would want to go out in public with.Overall I am very pleased!*Please note that I was sent this product either complimentary or discounted in order to provide my honest experience, thoughts and review.

I have used hot oil treatments on my hair before, so I was excited to use this natural one. I followed the directions that were included with the bottle that said apply to scalp and hair and cover with a cap for an hour. I did understand that I was putting oil on my hair and it would need a good wash to get it out, but I could not get it out even after a couple washings. For about 2-3 days my hair was so greasy I felt like shaving my head. I could have kept washing it and washing it until my hair felt clean enough, but I felt like that would cause too much damage. I did not like this at all. The reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because it does seem like the seller had a great attention to detail with the card and directions that were enclosed and because of the quality ingredients.I received this item free in exchange for using it and providing my honest, unbiased feedback. The price I paid had no bearing on my review, as I have no relationship with the seller and I never guarantee a good review.
