Based on requirements compiled by a team of camera users with many years of scouting camera experience, the Spartan GoCam design focuses on durability, usability, and, above all, outstanding performance. The ultimate test of a trail camera is its performance. The Spartan GoCam features an under-one-second trigger speed. The IR LED array provides illumination to 70 feet and beyond for crisp, clear night images and videos. Photo resolution can be set as high as 8 MP, while video resolution can be as high as 720P HD (native) if you want to use the camera as a standard trail camera taking videos rather than transmitting photos. The camera can be set to overwrite the oldest photo on the SD card with the most recent if the SD card is full so you don’t lose the most recent photos just because the SD card has filled. If you don’t want the camera to take pictures all the time, you can set one or two duty periods, each with different trigger intervals and time-lapse settings. In order to provide excellent water resistance for outdoor use, there are flush case mating areas in both front and rear case halves. An oversized rubber gasket on the front case half, as well as an oversized double-hinged latch that is easily operated with gloved hands, ensure a complete water-resistant seal. The rear case houses 12 AA batteries, which provide several months of battery life 2 (Battery life is determined by the type of battery used, the camera settings and the number of pictures taken, etc.) The batteries are arranged in two bays so that each battery has its own slot, thus eliminating the common problem of batteries unseating. Like all Spartan cameras, it has an industry-leading 2-year warranty.

Blows away the competition!
HUGE advantages over competitors1. You can upload VIDEOS to the app!! Even better you can do PHOTO+VIDEO mode! No other cellular camera I'm aware of can do this under $5002. You can trash the stock cell antenna (which is actually a decent antenna) and you can replace it with an SMA male to female extension coax and high-gain yagi such as what you buy for Wilson cell repeaters. I went from a deep valley with zero bars (NO SERVICE) to consistently having 3 bars and perfect cellular functionality. Amazing.3. Different shot intervals for different time of day. The shear amount of settings you can work with is awesome. If you are frustrated with getting settings to work, just ask here or call their customer service (or online chat works quite well). There is probably a way to do what you want you just might have trouble finding it.You have to forgive me as my basis of comparison is the Bushnell Aggressor Wireless. Mine has been reliable but you have to pay like $1 PER "HD" picture and you are not able to do photo plus video. Also there is no external cell antenna and the reception, in "bars" is usually 1-2 bars less than the Spartan with its stock antenna installed. Also I prefer to pay for a set amount of data and change my settings to take advantage of how it is used - this is how the Spartan is. The Aggressor forces you to buy in number of pictures and the HD quality is not as good.Battery life on energizer litiums literally defies physics. I've taken over 1000 photos WITH 10sec HD videos (majority at night with full power flash). Battery is still FULL. Solar panel and SLA battery are sitting in the drawer for now lol. Some may complain about trigger speed. On paper, sure there are better cellular cameras for trigger speed. The Spartan has no problem catching a coyote prancing across the camera 15 feet away. Any better doesn't provide me with any benefit. Some may complain about having to pay "premium" fees to the tune of $30 something per YEAR to upload HD pics and videos. Whoopty doo. Pay to play. No competitor can come close. Pales in comparison to all the other money I spend on hunting and security. Sure it would be nice to be free but honestly just having these features available, even at extra cost, was one of the reasons I chose the Spartan. Will update if things change or if I think of something else. Easily one of the easiest 5/5s I've given.

Great product. Super sensitive and with great sensor and stealth flash. Just make sure that where you are going to use it you have GSM coverage. It can not be too patchy. Relatively stable is needed.

Useless
The setup on this camera is far too confusing and the instructions included in the box are not correct. The customer service is not responsive. The camera is useless so far.
