This is a great book for beginners looking to get familiar with Arabic characters and the Arabic alphabet. One big con of the book, however, is that there is no information on how to connect letters to one another. Thus, you only know the stand alone version of the letter, and not the way to link the letter for proper word formation. I would recommend this book to parents looking to introduce their children to the language but not for the serious student of Arabic who wants to have mastered the alphabet once finished with a book.

Arabic: The Writing Practice Workbook (Volume 1)
Although it looks like it's a book meant for kids, I, as an adult student of the Arabic language found it to be helpful in learning how to properly write out the letters of the alphabet. The book is entirely pages and pages of the alphabet with examples for you to practice on before giving them a shot on your own. The examples are bigger than normal handwritten script/text, which in my case made learning how to write them out a little bit easier.Note: While the book teaches you how to write out the letters, it only shows the stand alone form of the letters. It does not show the beginning of the word, middle of the word or end of the word forms. Also, there are no numbers in the book; alphabet only.

good as far as it went
I liked this workbook for what it did have - each letter was shown, and then dashed out for practice with space for independent practice. It is a good beginning. What it didn't have was anything showing the letters when attached to other letters. How is the letter made when at the beginning, middle end of a word? How do they flow together? I had hoped to be able to write a word when I finished this book, and I won't even be able to read one. But I will know how to form each independant letter.

WAY Too Basic
I was sorely disappointed in this book. I took Arabic once upon a time, but still have a basic grasp on the language. I was looking to refresh my basics, but this was seriously lacking. I learned more in my first week of Arabic in college than this entire book provides. It get two instead of one star, because it does a decent job of explaining the sounds, but it only teaches you the independent position of letters. A basic guide to the alphabet should at least make include all of the letter positions, and also a section on sun letters. This may be good for children to learn the most basic of basics, but if you know ANYTHING about the language, you won't be satisfied.

Great for new learners.
Great for new learners. the methods on how to write each letter is nice and easy to follow. The book does a nice job in helping to introduce the pronunciation of each letter. But try seeking classes on how to better pronounce the letters, as a next step. And a tip: try repeating each letter after you finish writing each letter in the book, will likely help.

Back to Kindergarten we go!
For a Senior Citizen wanting to learn this new language, this was very helpful. The letters are huge (like for Kindergarten level) and it's so dramatically different from our alphabet, this was fun to work on.

but I can't find any books like that so far
It only covers independent letters, not letters as they appear in words. I was hoping for initial, medial, and final forms, but I can't find any books like that so far. This book does cover the independent letters very well. It gives the little arrows that show you how to form each letter, which is helpful.

Very good to learn how to write individual Arabic letters
Very good to learn how to write individual Arabic letters. Does not show how they connect to the next or preceding letter.

Good enough
I took one star away cz it is a little confusing the way the pages are arranged. As if you were read an English book not an Arabic one .
