In 1881 Daniel Green, a young traveling shoe salesman for the Wallace Elliott Company in New York City, visited Dolgeville, New York. Daniel was shown a pair of felt shoes fashioned from waste pieces of piano felt which had been made in the Dolgeville Felt Mill. Daniel Green noticed that these felt shoes were worn by many factory workers to keep their feet warm and comfortable on the cold factory stone floors, and thus a legend in footwear was born.

THE AHHHHH SLIPPER - DANIEL GREEN
I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PAIRS OF DANIEL GREEN SLIPPERS. NO OTHER SLIPPER CAN COMPARE BOTH IN COMFORT AND WEAR. I WASH THEM, DRY THEM AND PUT THEM BACK ON. I BOUGHT 3 OR 4 OTHER BRANDS OF SLIPPERS (ALL WELL KNOWN) WHILE TRYING TO FIND THE DANIEL GREEN ISABEL AND I GAVE THEM ALL AWAY. I WEAR A SIZE 8 REGULAR SHOE AND HAD ORDERED A PAIR OF SMALL AND A PAIR OF LARGE, BECAUSE I COULDN'T REMEMBER WHAT SIZE MY FIRST PAIR WAS. I DID NOT LIKE THE WAY MY HEEL CAME TO THE BACK OF THE SMALL PAIR; NOT TO WORRY THOUGH, I HAVE 4 GROWN DAUGHTERS AND A NEW PAIR OF SLIPPERS SUITS THEM FINE. MY LAST NEW LARGE PAIR WENT TO A DAUGHTER THAT JUST HAD SURGERY ON HER KNEE. SHE COULD KEEP THEM ON WHEN GETTING AROUND IN THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE THEY FIT SO WELL. OF COURSE, I WAS BACK TO SQUARE ONE AND HAD TO ORDER ANOTHER PAIR FOR ME. BROWN IS THE ONLY COLOR I COULD GET BUT WOULD LOVE OTHER COLORS. DANIEL GREEN SLIPPERS CANNOT BE BEAT.

First Slipper!
I decided to buy a pair of slippers after years of being that person whose socks got ruined from wearing them around the house all of the time. It was a great investment! I'm still getting used to wearing them, but I'm looking forward to when they're broken in. They're very warm and comfortable.I would say that they're slightly small, but keep in mind that I do wear them with socks on (as I sleep with socks on), so they could be tighter just from the added layer between my foot and the slipper. Regardless, I'm very happy with the slipper and am glad that I purchased it.

Depends what you're looking for -not for me!
I like the way they looked (I really liked the chocolate slipper and fur color combination!) so I really hoped they would work. They had adequate toe room, which is sometimes a problem for me in terms of width across the toe area as well as the height of the toe box...(If that is a problem for you and you don't don't need arch support you may love them!!!) The biggest thing was they did not have ANY arch support which is the #1 reason I will be sending them back. I thought they were described as having support- but as usual I knew it was a gamble to expect good support...:( In my opinion they look pretty nice, but visibly cheaper looking than the similiar style high end slippers I have seen in person. Maybe the reason I say that is the fur inside is not real, but it doesn't look bad. Of course that is to be expected since they are reasonably priced. One last thing that seemed very important was that I didn't feel they were going to stay on well because they were a little too roomy in the width across the middle of foot... I think my foot may have wiggled from side to side a bit , which made me feel that as they stretched a bit it could have become more of a concern.***In the end I ordered Daniel Green Portia slipper in Oatmeal (love the color!) and I love them- even though I will have to add arch support insoles myself. At least the insoles will stay put because the Portia slipper is closed slightly under the back heel> It is not a mule like the Isabel slipper FYI-I wear a 10 and my feet are slightly narrow- I need more room in the toe area in most shoes, which is why I can't wear a 9 and a half. This shoe was definitely adequate in the length and width if you don't need arch support. I hope this helps you to decide!!!!

I don't recommend these slippers.
I purchased these Daniel Green slippers because I have plantar fasciitis & I've read really good reviews about this brand. These slippers have no arch support at all. They're very flat & extremely uncomfortable. The toe box is narrow & hurt my big toes. The slippers run small. I wear a 7 1/2 so I ordered an 8 & my heel hangs off of the back of them. I wouldn't recommend these slippers to anyone looking for comfort.

Daniel Green Isabel Slippers are my Forever Favorites
I love slippers like some people love sneakers (tennis shoes). At any one time I have 4-6 pairs to wear for cold and warm weather. My Daniel Green's are warm and cuddly and stay on while I scuff around the house any time of day. They are pretty enough that I walk outside pick up the paper or retrieve mail. Sunday's you'll find me wearing my Isabel's while reading the paper or a book on our patio. I sized up for a perfect fit. I have already recommended them.

sturdy, well-made and great fit
For the price these are fantastic. I wear size 10-11 and the XL had a little room left in the heel, whereas a lot of slipons leave my heel right at the edge or hanging over. The only thing I would change is the amount of padding in the heel area, could be a little more.

Really Comfy Slipper Mules
These slipper mules are really soft inside and comfortable on my feet. I usually wear a size 11 and these fit perfectly. They are not the least bit too big, so keep that in mind when you order. They keep my feet toasty warm.

Super nice slippers
I love the warm comfortable feel of these slippers. They are furry on the inside which help me with my very narrow feet. They are great for these cold mornings. I love the suede on the uppers as well. They are just perfect.
