Works well on 32 and 64 bit Linux (Mint) and Windows - 'Blue Peter' skills are a bonus!
I could not get a Linux driver for my older, built-in, laptop's own web camera, which is why this 'no driver required' web cam appealed to me, plus good reviews from others on image quality. It produced a good quality image in varying light conditions. I did not need to do anything on Windows, it just worked 'out-of-the-box', there. As a newby to Linux, I had to click on a setting in the Linux Cheese application, in order to select the video source and also another click to select the audio source. Also as Linux is modular, you may need check the Gnome Sound App, to see that 'Microphone webcam 1080p' is selected in the input tab and a reminder that it does not show up, until the web cam is plugged in. The microphone is mono, I thought it was supposed to be stereo(?) but if I am heard ...that is all that matters for my purposes. The Cheese Application is the first port of call to check web cam functionality in Linux but you do not need Cheese after that ...as your video call application or video call web page, will acquire the web cam directly. Do not leave the Cheese Application running when you start your chosen application, as the camera can only associate to one application at a time.I am surprised that it does not come with a simple plastic lens cover, as there is an ever-present security risk from some application or website circumventing protection settings ...if set(!) and using the camera anyway. If I am paying £45.00 with a long wait for it to come from China, then holding back on a few pence to spend on a plastic lens cover is just needless penny-pinching, in my humble opinion.Do not fret if you feel the same. You can easily improvise a cover. I chose to use the black top from a tube of glue - stick, that was just slightly oversize for a snug fit on the chrome-finished lens barrel. I then cut two small slivers from a self-adhesive, sticky foot pad strip, that you can get from a Pound Shop and just spaced out on the inside of the cap, to get a smooth but snug fit, job done and looks like it was made for the job! Please avoid any excessive force when fitting the lens cap or you may damage your camera ...adjust any packing pieces accordingly.

Easy to use, good value
As described, a good webcam, just “plug & play” a good piece of equipment, just what I needed to keep in touch with the family while lockdown is in place.

Good webcam for the price
I ordered this to stay in touch with family, and it was received far earlier than the estimated delivery date, top marks for that! This is a no frills, streaming webcam, with built in microphone, and works very well. There are adjustments for brightness, contrast, saturation ets, depending on the application you are using it with. It comes with no software, but is plug & play. I plugged the USB 2 cable into my windows 10 PC, and it was installed in seconds - ran the Windows Camera app and there we were! So far I have used it successfully with Facebook/Messenger and Skype, picture and sound very good (my son tells me from his end).

Poor quality with little to recommend
Very basic and over-priced webcam with very little to recommend it other than it works. There is nothing on the box, device or instructions to suggest who the manufacturer might be. Mine arrived in a non-sealed brown cardboard box, and the webcam was scratched in various places which suggests that it was shop-soiled (see attached images); the basic instructions enclosed were for a camera with a rotating lens, yet the lens is fixed/non-rotating and would require a wrench to rotate it.The clamp bracket is poorly designed because it is neither sprung nor wind-up, so it takes some fiddling to get it to stay level on the top of a PC screen. Masking tape helps!I purchased the webcam for my partner’s PC. It plugged in and played quickly but the advertised ‘brightness balance’ claim is nonsense; her image on screen was very unflattering; it made her look 20 years older in an instant. The camera angle is very wide with a fish-eye effect; vertical lines (door frame, etc) 6 feet away are bowed. This is not a good look.Anyone who cares about the environment should note that the webcam will have to be transported halfway across the world from the Far East, so may want to consider offsetting the carbon footprint in some way. Don't be fooled by 'free delivery', check where the seller is based before making purchases from marketplace sellers because Amazon will not display such information.

It does what is required
Good webcam at reasonable price. Arrived exactly at promised time, plugged in and worked just fine.I use Linux o/s and can confirm it's compatibility with my installation (Mint 19.3). Wide angle lens is adjustable forfocus but does not zoom, so it's best to set up the monitor at an appropriate distance for the best overall appearance. Image is sharp and without significant distortion and the microphone gives clear audio to the participants of zoom etc. Overall this was a good buy and I recommend it.

Good customer service, easy to use camera
I needed a webcam at this time like many others because of lockdown. The camera took some time to arrive at first and then, unfortunately, lasted only two minutes in operation! I contacted the sellers through the usual Amazon channels and had a prompt response, offering a new camera (or a refund). I opted for the new camera, which arrived much more quickly than the first, and this has worked well - just plug in and go. I've had a slight problem with the sound received, but I'm not sure whether that's anything to do with the camera! Certainly no problem with people hearing me. After the initial disappointment, I have been pleased with the results and ease of use, and very satisfied with the prompt response to the original problem.

Sharp image, plug and play
Brilliant, plug and play, no configuration needed, thank goodness too because the manual is in Mandarin. It's high definition quality. I even got compliments on how sharp the image looks. It stays put over my monitor. So far no complaints.

good quality camera for your pc
fiddly to get to grip things with it, manual focus a bit noddy too. Stuck it on a bottle to ensure I'm looking at the camera. Be sure to cover camera when not using to avoid spying.
