Q: Will this ssd work with an msi mag b550 tomahawk motherboard (mushkin products are not on the msi compatibility list)?

Sorry if this is late, but yes I have the B450 Tomahawk (switching to B550 Tomahawk soon) and it works perfectly. I was getting reads of 3500mb/s and writes of 3300mb/s

Q: Is this new model a single sided or double sided chip. If you have chips on both side, it cannot be use on most laptop.

The 2TB nvme has chips on both sides. The top is fully chipped. The bottom has chips occupying the space exactly beyond the half way point on the end farthest from the data connectors. It is perfectly flat on the half of the side closest to the data connectors. I hope this helps somebody.

Q: Will this fit the thinkpad x1 carbon (latest model)? how about the 2tb model?

You will need to contact Lenovo to get help with that question unfortunately. However, as long as it has room for a 2280 M.2 NVMe device the capacity of the drive (2TB) should not matter.

Q: What is the lifespan of this ssd? how many tbw?

One of the earlier answers is misleading because the TBW depends on the size of the drive. The manufacturer specs: 500 GB drive is 350 TBW 1 TB drive is 650 TBW 2 TB drive is 1300 TBW So, in effect, it's about 650 TBW per 1 TB of drive space.
