Best series ever
The conclusion is here and I am rather sad that we have to end this story. From book one I was addicted to this series. I don’t think there is a single aspect or emotion created in dark fiction that Marissa didn’t utilize in her series. Throughout the life of Anna, I continued to need more and now that it is over, I still want more.We start this final book with Anna as a free woman, but soon things will change. As she takes each step to reclaim her freedom and life, outside forces are working at limiting her in what she can do. It was nice to see her fight back now, show her attitude that had been beaten out of her, but maybe this wasn’t the best time to put her foot down. She will continue her dancing and being with those who are protecting her but adjusting to life without Devin and Alex will be strange for her. She will meet a new man, Hugo, who would be a perfect man, IF she didn’t have obligations from the role she carries with Alex’s family. This book wasn’t the normal dark and evil theme that we had come to expect, but I felt the emotional intensity was raised with this one. I have to be very careful in how I say this as to not spoil the story for you but there was one thing I had been hoping for in the last two books. While there were signs that the ending would be as I had hoped for and many times I even predicted this event would happen, with Marissa’s brilliance in creating this story, I was still shocked at the end. It was like you knew it was coming, you can almost see it there, but then when it does occur you are taken by surprise that it really happened. I am beyond amazement with the talent of this new author. She didn’t quietly make an entrance into the Indie world; she took us by storm with this series. You will get an actual conclusion to this story; there are no loose ends that leave you hanging or lingering questions that will haunt you for the rest of your days. Many times I wondered how she was going to tie this all together and give us our closure and I found she did it perfectly. Anna will deal with anger, rage, jealousy, the truth and discover the lies she had been told. She will seek the revenge and she will taste victory in some cases. Anna started out as a young innocent child when we began this journey. She will end as a strong woman who has survived life’s worst, beyond worst and still stands to tell her story. I loved every single book in this collection and I can hardly wait to see what Marissa has in store for us in the future.

Long but satisfying
I didn't know how many stars to give this series but ultimately decided on 5 stars for sheer ingenuity of storyline and for the mammoth task the author faced just keeping track of the countless and myriad details and character names through five books. As an author myself, I can say that this is not an easy thing to do even if you write them back to back. So... kudos for that. Now the spoilers start, so if you haven't read the series, stop reading this review now. The story was fascinating as were the characters but I still felt five were too many books. The story would have been better served in three books IMO. Much of the middle books consisted of sex, sex, deviant sex, torture sex, sex... well, you get the picture. Use a machete and then a scalpel. Some of the story aspects didn't hold water, but I'm willing to forgive since such an ambitious storyline is bound to have some leaks and they were few and far between. But the main reason I kept reading through five books was I wanted to see Devin get his comeuppance. Was I pissed off that it came in the last five percent of the last book? Hell yes. Rather than read the minutiae of Anna's NY life, I wanted to see Devin sweat and suffer. His end when it finally came was ultra satisfying, I have to say. But couldn't the author have spared Anna those final weeks of torture? I mean, come on. And why didn't Anna ever open her mouth when she had the chance (and not to give a blow job) and tell others what the mofo was doing to her. At the last funeral, they asked her what he had done to make her run away. At that point she had nothing to lose and everything to gain by telling them of the nerve juice and the killings of Ben and Jenna (if she recalled Jenna's) and the electrocution, and how he killed her, and how he aborted her pregnancies with knives and his hands, etc., and yet she said nothing. I'm, like, come on. If she could savage Jack (and I would have liked THAT scene described in detail), then she could have defended herself in words. It's not as if by keeping mum she avoided any of Devin's torture.Overall, though, it was worth my thirteen dollars and a few nights of my life spent reading it. And the five stars.

Wow!!!!.. Beyond words... captivating. .
I thought about my review for this series.. I understand that the subject is not for everyone and is hard to swallow at times.. but that being said I couldn't put this series down.. it captivated me so much that my emotions are still all over the place.. I have had several emotions on this series.. I have laughed, cried several times, cussed, threw my tablet down, felt hatred, felt sick to my stomach, and at times felt Annas pain... This series puts you in it full force.. you will feel what each character is feeling as if it was happening to you.. this series is of great love, great loss, and great realization that most of this series minus the immortality could and does happen to people around the world.. thank you Marissa for being brave enough to write this story and giving the world an amazing read.. I loved this book in ways and hated it in others.. this series will stay with you forever. . I've read the series 2 times now and the second time I've gotten more out of it.. I've gotten emotional about each character and I felt I've invested in a great world of love, betrayal, pain , and revenge.. I will read this series over and over again.. to be fare on this series if you don't read Marissa warning at the beginning you will be shocked of what your about to read.. so prepare yourself for an unforgettable journey in the life of anna.. amazing..
