OEM fit, finish, and function for 1986 Cobra
don't try to slide by without changing the inner (shiny metal) impeller housing. Don't try to use the old gaskets. Buy this kit, take the time to do it right. Restored good water pressure to my 1986 Lund Baron 2100v with the chevy 4.3l V6 and Cobra outdrive. Very happy with this kit.

Unreliable and can ruin your boat
This is the second of these water pumps that I have bought and both failed the same way. The turning impeller causes the steel basket to rotate in the plastic housing, thereby cutting off the water ports and preventing water from entering or leaving your engine. Then, your engine will overheat and you will be stuck. If you are lucky, you will catch it in time and not damage your engine.
